From Monday 23rd March the majority of children will be at home.
We have sent home a pack with every child which includes various activities to help your child learn at home.

Whilst school is closed we will be using Tapestry to keep in touch. We will be putting a daily challenge on and would love to see the children joining in. If you have any problems with logging in or using Tapestry please do email one of the teachers and they would be happy to support you with this.
There are also many online resources which you may find useful. Below is a list of some useful digital learning tools you can access on your laptop, tablet and phone. We will continue to update this list so please keep coming back to this page for regular updates.

The Big List of Children’s Authors Doing Online Read-Alouds & Activities
The White Rose Maths hub is a fantastic resource with loads of fun maths activities to do whilst at home. All are themed around a story.
We follow the NCETM Numberblocks programme of study for our maths learning in Reception. The children love to watch the Numberblocks episodes and it is fantastic to see their learning coming to life through this animated approach. We encourage a very practical approach to learning maths, we focus on touch counting and rote counting forwards and backwards with confidence. throughout the year we look closely at numbers to 20 and how we can represent them in a variety of ways. Reasoning and problem solving has been introduced and we are incredibly proud of the children’s ability to explain why something could represent a certain amount or what we might need to do it to make it represent that amount. We are estimating different amounts and are consolidating simple addition and subtraction problems . We will also be looking at finding out the names of 3D shapes and their properties.
Your child will change their book twice a week, information on what days your child will change their books can be found on your classes information board.
We encourage you to read with you child regularly.
* We advise that they read for 10-15 minutes every day.
* There should be no distractions.
* Show interest in the book.
* Enlist your child’s help when using calendars, diaries, making lists, finding labels on clothes, using recipe books and DIY instruction leaflets.
* Model reading behavior when reading newspapers, magazines and books.
* Bring stories to life with lots of expression and silly voices.
* Read to children as often as possible, even after they have learnt to read independently.
* Take children to the library.
* Talk about stories and pictures.
* Play a game of ‘spot the words’ on signs and labels, indoors and outdoors.
Homework is given out every Friday and is always due in on the following Wednesday (unless stated otherwise).
